I want to try making content because it looks fun. For now, it's just gonna be a weekly blog post consisting of a short life update and a educational for-fun section. I'd like to eventually learn 2d animation because I think it'd be a better educational tool than just words.

Setting up a static website.

I bought gambolaya.com for about $6 on namecheap, then used boomla to host it as a static website for free. Boomla allows code-less website creation and hosting which is really good for someone like me who has no idea what they are doing.

A static website is a website that is exactly the same for every person who visits it. A dynamic website changes itself to cater to each user. The most common examples of dynamic websites are any website that lets you create a profile or any e-commerce website. You gotta pay for dynamic hosting, but static hosting is usually free. 

Also you can't just outright purchase a domain name forever. The ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) is an organization that limits the purchase of any domain to 10 years. I bought gambolaya.com for 1 year and namecheap is supposed to automatically renew it at the end of each year. If it doesn't, I will be very sad.
